German-born Julia Effertz trained as a dancer and singer in Cologne and Berlin, and studied acting at the Ecole Supérieure du Spectacle, Paris, and at City lit London. Julia continues to hone her skills at the Actors Centre London.
Theatrical credits include: ‘The House of Bernarda Alba’ (Maria Josefa); ‘The Bald Primadonna’ (Mary); ‘Two’ (Woman), ‘A Mouthful of Birds’ (Yvonne). Julia has played German terrorist Gudrun Ensslin in the one-woman piece ‘No Memorial for Gudrun Ensslin’ and was recently involved in the development of a New Writing project based on the life of Zimbabwean author Dambudzo Marechera. Since childhood, she has worked extensively as a voice-over artist in TV, film and radio.
Julia enjoys singing and playing the piano. She is also a trained journalist and proficient linguist, speaking English, German, French, Italian and Spanish. Julia is currently seeking representation.
