Chrys Salt – Director

Chrys is an award winning writer and theatre director. She began her career as a performer in Rep, touring, West End, TV and radio with regular stints in various soaps and series. She now directs in theatre and sound and writes books, theatre and radio plays, features and documentaries including seven popular books for actors. She is Artistic Director of Bare Boards…and a passion Theatre Company and The Bakehouse, a flourishing arts venue in S.W Scotland. Chrys teaches regularly at The Actors Centre, London.

Clea Myers

Clea Myers studied at Brown University (USA) and trained at the Lee Strasberg Institute. Favourite parts include Sexy Sheila with Mackenzie Crook on Gas (Ch 4), Gypsy in Camino Real and Winnie in new play, Saving Winnie where she was ‘wholly convincing’ as a sex-obsessed, born-again Christian (Time Out). She is also an Internet Agony Aunt and has written a memoir about her experiences with crystal meth in Los Angeles. She actively raises awareness in the British media (This Morning, LK Today, Sky & ITV News, BBC Radio) about this devastating street drug.

Clea’s book ‘Tweaking the Dream: A Crystal Meth True Story’ was published in May 2009 and she is currently devising a one-woman play with this vibrant and challenging material (www.cleamyers.com)

Waleed Akhtar

Waleed is a graduate from the University of Nottingham, and has gone on to work in both film and theatre. He has appeared at the Edinburgh festival twice, in comedies ‘The show in the Bro’ and ‘Polar Bears’, was Ali in ‘Rock Candy’ (Time Out Kids Choice) and most recently has returned from Germany playing the lead in ‘Gladiator Games’. Film includes shorts ‘Tonight’ for EM Media (Nominated BFM Film Festival), satire ‘Bollywood’s not my Cup of Tea’ and promos for MTV.

Leon Ancliffe

Leon was born and bred in Halifax West Yorkshire. He trained at The Urdang Academy in Covent Garden with a full 3-year scholarship where he received the ‘Freed award’ for outstanding achievement in dance.
Theatre credits include: Subtransmission (Original cast Courtyard) Daddy, Sweet Charity (Bloomsbury) Burger, Hair (Newcastle Concert Hall) Zach in A Chorus Line (Bloomsbury) The Actors Nightmare (Jermyn Street) Jack and Beanstalk (Regional tour) Film/Television: Orange Mobile Commercial. Rogue Traders (BBC 1) SATURDAY 3PM, Football Player, LFS Modeling for Clynal exclusive, at European events. Earlier this year Leon also worked with Stephen Daldry and Peter Darling on the concept workshops of Billy Elliot, for its Broadway transfer.

Jessica Carroll

Jessica trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts where she enjoyed roles including Lady Macbeth, Lady Percy (Henry IV Part II), Helen (Uncle Vanya), Helen (Under the Blue Sky), Private ‘Basher’ Beasley (Passing-Out Parade), Mrs Loveit (Man of Mode). Since graduating she has been in the acclaimed run of Hellcab at the Old Red Lion which was top 5 in the Times, played Regine in ‘Ghosts’ at the BAC, Annie in ‘Rural’ at the Courtyard, Portia in ‘Julius Caesar’, Rosaline Love’s Labours Lost, Hermia A Midsummer Night’s Dream etc. She has done several voice overs, commercials, short films, idents etc and has been in ‘The Bill’ and ‘Totally Frank’ on Television. Lucie Howard

Lucie Howard trained at The University of Hull and then at ALRA where her credits included Dora Spenlow in David Copperfield, Alice Ayres in Closer, and Hazel Conway in Time And The Conways. Since graduating she has played Emma in Ex (Barn Theatre) and filmed a comedy sketch show pilot. She has also played Kat in Joy Division (Rosemary Branch Theatre) and most recently took the part of Lulu in a rehearsed reading of Saturday Night (White Bear Theatre).

She has sung in Musicals at Wimbledon Theatre and The London Palladium. She has also been a Children’s Entertainer and Compere. In 2006 The Stage voted her as Best Newcomer

Shane Maclean

Shane trained at the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts. His professional theatre credits include Barrow (Love Struck Lead) in Twenty four Vampires, Chorus Leader in Lysistrata and Princess Fergie (Ugly Sister) in Cinderellas Sinful Fellas. Apart from a few short films he has also appeared in From The Edge, No Sweat and London’s Burning for BBC Television. He has spent the past three years travelling to some wonderful far flung exotic locations. Shane is looking forward to his return to acting and is seeking representation.

Sarah trained at Central School of Speech and Drama. Since graduating highlights have included speed dating satire Ready, Steady, Date (Edinburgh Festival), Sheila in A Chorus Line (Gillmorehill), Ayah in Kismet (Arcola Theatre), Newsrevue (Canal Café Theatre), and a series of plays for Rikki Beadle-Blair including a lap-dancing Lawyer complete with routine (Tristan Bates). As a singer Sarah has performed at venues including The Royal Albert Hall and The Glastonbury Festival. She is currently working with Nathan Osgood towards a full run of his new play ‘I Chose You’ for 2008.

Ursula Valentinovich

Polish born actress Ursula Valentinovich arrived in London in 2003. She was noticed by IMG Models but instead chose to pursue a career in acting. Ursula went on to train at Central then Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts where cast in ‘Catch’ as a Romanian victim of sex trafficking, Afina and in Stoppard’s ‘Rock’n’Roll’ as a Czech student, Lenka. She has appeared in Max Factor commercial alongside Carmen Cass and indie film projects, she was also cast in ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’ as Ania.

Rebecca Walsh

Rebecca was born in North London and trained at Sylvia Young, Middlesex University and The Guildhall School of Speech and Drama. Her Television credits include Dorrabella in Elgar’s Enigma (BBC) Jane in Kerching (BBC), Gemma in The Last Detective (BBC) and Carla in Holby City (BBC). Rebecca has also appeared in many commercials, most recently for Renault and Nintendo Wii. Whilst Acting is Rebecca’s absolute passion, she has also carved out a successful Television career as a presenter, with a year long contract on Channel 5’s The Great Big British Quiz. Rebecca can currently be seen on Sky channel 666, weekdays on Max TV.

Cassandra Wilson

Cassandra is a drama graduate of Exeter University and graduated from the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in London. She has toured extensively both in Europe and the UK and is a very musical performer, playing both the alto and soprano saxophones and with an engaging soprano singing voice. Recent theatre roles include Hero in a national open air tour of Much Ado About Nothing, and Buttons in a pantomime tour of Cinderella.
